Dr Nora Nakshabendi

Pediatric Dentist

A graduate from the University of South Florida, Dr. Nakshabendi is also known as Dr. Nora as her patients love to call her. Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Dr. Nora acquired DMD from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2016. She started her journey on humanitarian dental trips treating underserved children and discovered her passion for treating kids. To further her passion, she went on to do advanced training specializing in kids at the New York University Langone Hospital Children’s Dental Residency program in 2018. Nora is passionate about giving the best dental care to kids and making their treatment more enjoyable.

Apart from this, she loves to do photography, being close to nature, traveling, and watching Disney movies. She is also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, and American Association of Women Dentists.

Dr.Yu (Taylor) Wang, DDS, MDS, MS, DMD

Dr. Yu Wang is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Periodontics at Penn Dental Medicine. She teaches in clinical and didactic settings at both predoctoral and postdoctoral levels while devoting time to multiple research projects.

After receiving her D.D.S. from Taipei Medical University (Taiwan) in 2009, Dr. Wang continued her training and research at National Yang-Ming University (Taiwan) and earned an M.D.S. degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2011. After a few years of practicing in Taiwan, she decided to move to the United States. She then continued her career in dentistry by completing another M.S. and Certificate in Periodontology at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and a D.M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr David Hom

General Dentist

A Doctorate in Dental Surgery, Dr. David Hom graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1997. Currently a fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Hom has been in practice since 1997 in Queens and Nassau County. He is an expert in Implant, Fixed, Cosmetic Dentistry, and Oral Surgery. He has treated patients with Trauma Dentistry and Dental Phobias. Being a Masters of Science in Biology, Dr. Hom has done Biomedical research in the fields of cancer research. He has been on a continuous path of advanced dental practices and brings the best expertise to One and Truly Dental’s patients.

Beth Teper

Hygienist

A graduate from SUNY Farmingdale with an associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene, Beth keeps herself updated by attending various courses to advance her knowledge of dental hygiene and dentistry. Patients love her for her excellent clinical skills including gentleness and thoroughness. Beth engages with patients and children with disabilities. She believes in understanding the needs of the patients and teaches them to maintain optimum oral health. Beth takes pride in her role as a dental hygienist and is always ready to greet her patients with a smile.

Nazrin Akbarova

Hygienist

Nazrin is a great recent addition to our team. She considers hygiene to be her weakness as well as strength. She grew up with a strict sense of order and structure; for example, her wardrobe is arranged by colors, books are in alphabetic order, Alexa echo dots all have the same volume and lemons grow symmetrically on her indoor tree. She considers hygiene to be not only a state of cleanliness or neatness, but also a representation of health and nirvana of tranquility. Cleaning the patients’ teeth is a process of mutual healing to her. She wears her magnifying loupes accompanied with 500 lux light where she can see every tiny black dot, unseen to a naked eye, and clean it to an impeccable form. She has a bachelor’s in Microbiology, and a Dental Hygiene degree from NY City Tech. Besides English, I also speak Russian, Turkish and Azerbaijani.

Romina Lobos

Romina has over 10 years of experience as a dental office manager. She has a passion for dentistry and enjoys helping our patients with everything. Romina is the heart of our practice — and helps our practice to run smoothly and efficiently by making sure our team has everything needed to perform successful treatments. In her spare time, Romina dedicates time to her family while making herself available to our patients’ emergencies after hours.

Noemi

Dental Assistant

As a dental assistant, Noemi has been with our practice since 2016. Noemi enjoys the teamwork at our office and is dedicated to patient care. At our practice, she works alongside our office doctors to assist in all dental procedures. She ensures that our patients feel comfortable throughout their entire treatment process and is able to answer any questions they may have about their procedure. When not at the office, Noemi enjoys spending time with her children.
